Drosera burmannii is grown from seeds, sterilization 10mins in 1,5%NaOCl, 1x water rinse. The medium was 1/3MS with the total omission of FeSO4.&H2O and CuSO4.5H2O. Medium enriched with vitamins. No hormones were used. Sucrose 24g/l and agar 7g/l.
Seeds sprouted within 17 days (about 90% germination rate).

The plants grew on this medium very fast and vividly (21 days old plantlets):

When I used sterilization times over 10 minutes, the sprouting was delayed 2 weeks and the plants were much inferior to the ones depicted above.

I deflasked the d. burmannii jar today, all the plants had very strong root system and an average diameter of over 1cm. From the sow batch I managed to get 93 new plants. Here are the pics:

Hello

I know that propagation of. D.burmannii from leaf explants is easy, but i tried on 40% MS 0,015mg kin 0,001 IBA two times, and each leaves got dark after 1-2 weeks.... Do you know reliable hormones concentration for this process?

Regards

Hi Sativ,
try more diluted medium 20%MS or so.If this does not help, dont add PPM or any other isothiazolones to the media. They can be pretty toxic to isolated plant parts.
