Hey hb!

Nothing to report yet. There isn't any sign of contamination yet. Last time I think it took 4 days or so for it to show and it's only been two. If they go a week and I don't seen any contamination I'll call them safe!

I hope it doesn't get any contamination. I think that first one was from the shipping. Best of luck Matt!!!

I got the same pink fungus on my VFT's in the passaging procedure. I didn't sterylise correctly petri dish......

I hope that now there will be OK! Tis ping funghi were very hard to resterylise for me- they tended to appear about 15 days after resterylisation!

Good luck ;)

Thanks Jun and sativ. So far so good. They're not showing any signs of contamination. However, during shipment the tissue was badly damaged and broken. There is some phenolic bleeding happening. I'm hoping that it doesn't get too bad, but I think I might have to replate.

Yeah Matt, I would prepare some spare jars for replating.

A long overdue update.

The Cephalotus tissue seemed to do best on 30% MS + 1.5g/L activated charcoal. It didn't do very well on the 10% MS or the 50% KC. All other concentrations of salts seemed to work fine for it. It grew nearly the same on 20% MS, 30% MS, 40% MS and 50% MS.

It did better on the 30% MS with AC than on the 30% MS without AC.

It got a very deep emerald green color on the 50% WPM. It looked very healthy.

It stayed pale in coloration on the 10% MS and 50% KC and didn't look very good.

I have all of the tissue on 30% MS + 1.0g/L activated charcoal right now. Once I grow out the tissue a bit more, I'm going to put it on hormones.

It was badly damaged in transit and it has taken it a while to grow back.
